Hi! I am a life-long learner, teacher, counselor and facilitator. The most exciting thing in life is to explore the depths of a new person right through their exteriors and into their minds and hearts. As a result, I am very approachable, a good listener, and nonjudgmental. I am curious, warm, liberal, spiritual -- but not religious. I think you’ll find me honest and direct, but compassionate.
Snuggling with a four- or two-footed best friend is always great. Both people and animals need to be connected, and they also need freedom -- when they come close by choice, the trust bond can be exquisite. I miss the companionship, warmth, and affection that having an intimate friend allows me to give and to receive. “Falling in love” is exhilarating, but I also believe people can take a friendship built on trust and mutual respect and walk their way into loving as well. It works in many cultures who arrange marriages.
Americans are too ready to be smitten by the shiniest object on the shelf and “fall in love.” However, if one does not know how to stand in love and be shaped by loving, one is likely to become disillusioned in the end. I know how to be touchy-feely, intimate, and sensual without being sexual, just as l can also really enjoy sex with the person I’ve chosen to love. An aging hippie type, I remember the schmaltzy poster, “If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it is yours. If it does not, it never was.” Although I can commit wholeheartedly, I cannot be controlled. Conversely, I will not want to control you.
Though I was raised in an affluent family, I care little about possessions. People and ideas are ultimately the most important. Physical handicaps mean nothing, although I would not be good as a primary caregiver.
I teach college English online and manage an animal shelter website. I love to watch nature, read quality nonfiction (no romance novels - ugh!), write, enjoy music, and enjoy quiet times talking and dining with friends. I avoid drama and relish tranquility.

What kind of person are you interested in meeting?
Honest, intelligent, educated , direct, communicative men of high character and trustworthiness who are down-to-earth and nonjudgmental, moderate to liberal, and intelligent make good friends. Money is never important, but I can't support anyone else. I have dated millionaires who valued me precisely because I was so independent that they knew I liked them for themselves and not for what they could do for me. I love men of intellectual and physical substance who are looking for equal partners in life.

What sort of relationship would you like at this point in your life.
Always, always - friends first so we can discover each other as people. Someone who is patient knows that it takes time to create quality wine. Although I am quite liberal minded, someone who "leads" with their sexual interests is a turn off. After than, I am interested in building (repeat building) a long-term relationship. I need a one woman man after we're committed, just as I am a one man woman.

Have had many -- from a rescued flying squirrel to an alligator to a piranha to many, many dogs whom I loved best.

Pets are people, too. First, I was a volunteer with an animal shelter. And I'm happiest when they are in my bed, under my feet, loping ahead of me or riding on my shoulder -- the way both my flying squirrel and one of my Chihuahuas did for years.

Where I live now, pets are not allowed. There ought to be a law against that!

What interesting things can your pet(s) do? Did you train them or do they train you?
I am a fan of clicker training. My last Poodle could do all the usual tricks as well as jump through hoops and ring a bell when he needed to go outside.

Educator, writer, counselor, Marketing Specialist. All part time, and I love them all.

Reading, writing, drawing, swimming, exploring, learning, advocating for animals and connecting on deep levels with animals and people.

Wild nights out, cocktail party conversations, house work, and other routine and innocuous things.

I am a suburban girl from an affluent area who rejected conspicuous consumption and the acquisition of material things. I a very down-to-earth, but I do enjoy creature comforts like air conditioning!

Really? Meeting a total stranger deep in the wilderness so he could show me (annd a companion) his survivalist cave retreat.
